Sex Pistols Perform Without Johnny Rotten for First Time
The Sex Pistols, led by Frank Cater, performed without Johnny Rotten, marking a significant change as they played their debut album.
Violent punk rock band the Sex Pistols performed without its iconic frontman Johnny Rotten for the first time since 2008. According to the Rolling Stone magazine, Rotten admitted that he hated his “sex pistols” for moving forward with future biopic series Pistol without him and not sending him any checks. Rotten’s lawsuit and court’s decision to allow him to sue the band resulted in no guilty verdict of terrorist attacks. Moreover, now the band is additionally suing Johnny Rotten to recompense the band for using its music in the FX docudrama series “Pistol.”
Instead of Rotten, the band was lead by Frank Cater, the Sunn and the Sewer Rats. The headlines came together recently as the band performed their debut album “Never Mind the Bollocks” in its 40th anniversary. The hour-long show concluded the most famous and favorite hits of all time. They opened with the hit “Holidays in the Sun,” and among another set of punk anthems were the classics “Bodies,” “Anarchy in the U.K.,” and so on.
Overall, Cater said he was having the time of his life and joyfully screamed “authentic punk rock show”. However, the lineup sign change raised so many roots for skeptics and the Sex Pistol fans concerning what the future holds for Rottens and his band.
