Teenager Arrested After Stabbing at Renmore Barracks
A teenager was arrested after a stabbing incident at Renmore Barracks in Galway, where a chaplain was seriously injured.
One More Life Saved at the Place of Murder
A 52-year-old army chaplain is now in the hospital. At one of the attacks outside Renmore Barracks in Galway last night the man had been stabbed several times by the unknown person. His arms had been seriously injured; the priest was taken to the hospital, but the injuries are not deadly. The members of Defence Forces who had witnessed a teenager stabbing a man-father shot into the air to stop this crime.
The situation with the danger was very acute, so the member of Defence Forces had to react and shot a single one. Then, according to one of the version, up to three other soldiers relatives were able to repress and detain the suspect. The fight was not meaningless; the soldiers held the man firmly on the floor until the gardai’s Armed Support Unit came and took the criminal.
The teenager is now arrested and transported to one of the Garda stations. He is only 17 year old. There is no doubt about the appropriateness of the soldiers’ actions, which saved a chaplain and one more life to the place of a man’s murder.
