Vicky McClure Explores Family History in BBC Series
Vicky McClure's journey in the latest episode of Who Do You Think You Are? explores her family's past, revealing personal and historical insights.
In the episode of the renewed show Who Do You Think You Are? broadcast on BBC One last week, Vicky McClure, the well-known actress featuring in Line of Duty and Trigger Point, as well as in several other television series, performed a sincere and touching autobiographical sketch. The premiere of this particular issue designated the commencement of the 21st show’s series.
During the current episode, the actress was taken from her home city in Nottingham to Taiwan, while examining the history of her family. The viewing public might have already been aware of a great proportion about the harrowing circumstances endured by her great-grandfather, Harry Millership, when trying to survive as a Prisoner of War in Japan and work in a Taiwanese cooper mine in the years of World War II.
At the same time a portion of information regarding the actress’ grandfather and especially the details of life and family background of her paternal grandmother, Jean, who “became a stepdaughter” of one family in the year of 1901, might have served both as a closure for the main character of the story and valuably-taught lesson at the same time.
Facets investigated and discharged in the episode constituted another evidence of well-deserved popularity of McClure, the multifaceted personality, amiable on and off screen, who never shies away from displaying both her weakness and talents.
