Angelo Leo Ready to Capture World Title Again in Fight

The night before the upcoming Top Rank boxing event at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico, all fighters could make weight, making way for a memorable boxing night. For the main event, local fighter Angelo Leo made weight at 125.6 lbs. Venado Lopez and Angelo Leo will fight for the IBF world featherweight championship. Although Angelo entered the ring as the underdog for the fight, at +350, Angelo believes he will capture a world title for the second time.

Being in his hometown, Angelo Leo has the right amount of support and motivation, as Angelo said, “I have a lot to prove.” He is the underdog of the fight, betting odds influencing his overall performance and perception as a strong contestant during the fight. However, Angelo is determined to prove every single person who may distrust him wrong, stating that he was and is transforming to become a world champion. His passion and readiness to fight were evident as he said, “Whatever I’ve gotta do to win, I’ma do it.” Moreover, on the fight card, Matthew “Diamond Boy” Griego will also be competing. Instead of Abraham Perez, who complained of health problems at the last moment, Matthew Griego will face Gilberto Mendoza a second time after beating him by unanimous decision in 2022. Matthew was saddened by the replacement but ready to fight and reassured that he and Mendoza “will still put the fight of the night.”
