Braves Secure a Narrow Victory Over Giants in Extra Innings

The Atlanta Braves recently won 4-3 in extra innings against the San Fransisco Giants on Tuesday night at the Oracle Park. This marked a third loss in a row, despite winning eight out of ten games earlier in the season. The loss put the Giants 3.5 games out in the race for the second wild card spot in the National League.

Travis d’Arnaud’s performance was pivotal to the Braves’ win, as he hit a solo home run and an RBI single in the 10th inning. Even though the giants tried to score some runs in the bottom of the stanza, the efforts proved futile as both Lamonte and Heliot Rafael Ramos flew out sending them to their 52nd loss of the season.

The pitching was decent, as the starter Kyle Harisson struck out six but allowed three runs through the 5 innings he threw. The bullpen also edged closer to the standard, with two retirement dominance from Tristan Beck and Kotiar Wakamatsu while Carter Hart ended the tenancy with a two inning, 4k show that might have set up for a late rally that never came.

The Giants have a chance to take away some pride in the four-game series as they aim to win the last game against Atlanta. The Giants have all the hope with the left-hander Robbie Ray on the mound, with a return of an infielder during his rehab third baseman Thairo Estrada is also set to return, but it might take a couple of weeks.
