Dallas Cowboys: Preseason Injuries Impact on Team

The Dallas Cowboys are working hard to prepare for the 2024 NFL regular season. However, some injuries and other aspects of the preseason make the team’s chances for success different. The most important aspects of this period are the dynamics of playing in the quarterback position and the linebacker squad’s severe depletions.

It appears that the Cowboys will have to start the season with Dak Prescott as their quarterback while their backup quarterbacks will be Trey Lance and Cooper Rush. While Prescott is a very good field general, other personalities are less experienced. Lance demonstrated nice plays during the preseason, but they were also mixed. Still, the roster will have to be cut to 53 players, and the management should correctly select the best squad that can be competitive.

Another aspect that can affect the Cowboys’ performance is an injury to the cornerback DaRon Bland’s left foot. He will not be able to return to the field for six to eight weeks as a result of a stress fracture in his leg. Bland was a very good personality last season, as he managed to make five interception returns for touchdowns. Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer needs to adapt to this problem, while some but other good library players except for Stephon Gilmore will also not appear in this squad to support vicious positions.

Owner Jerry Jones is rather optimistic and reports that there are many good cornerbacks to select players from. Besides, he adds that rookie Caelen Carson is likely to replace Bond’s well . Still, there are some problems in the team, as some players have contract extensions that have not been re-signed yet, and there are no new contracts as well. In all, there are 28 players who are receiving a salary of 12,000,000 dollars or more, while some of them cannot play due to injuries. All these aspects, as well as the previous failures in the playoff season, have generated some skepticism regarding the upcoming season.

The tendency observed during the preseason is generally positive, as a quarterback position and cornerback possibilities are strong; that is why they can make a great season. In all, the extent to which the injuries and some unstable dynamics of the team are affecting the odds is somewhat. Overall, the possibilities of the Dallas Cowboys will be dependant on their ability to overcome these issues that make some problems.
