De Ligt Under Investigation for Hit-and-Run Incident

Matthijs De Ligt of Bayern Munich is in legal hot waters following claims of being involved in a hit-and-run outside the club’s premises. The 24-year-old Dutch international is under investigation after it was reported that his car was involved in a traffic accident, and it was later towed and impounded at around 3:15 am. According to a police report, the outstanding central back from Netherlands hurriedly left the scene.

Lawyer Katharina Thueuerkaufer has observed that the charges are grave and a conviction would result in two years in prison or a considerable monetary fine. She is furthering her sentiments by mentioning that it is important to prove that De Ligt knew that there was traffic collision in order to win the lawsuit. This is because a hit-and-run is used particularly when an individual takes intentional steps not to fulfill their legal requirements.

It is still unclear if the De Ligt has been kicked out of the German giants since he was missing during the teams’ tour to South Korea. News is also spreading that the 24-year-old player is also on his way to Old Trafford. Addressing the press, Bayern Munich manager Max Eberl mentioned that the matter is still under investigation. He went ahead to claim that the north-west London club has always supported the player even in this trying time.
