Detroit Tigers and Yankees Share Moments with Young Athletes

The little league world series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, has been a joyful event in the lives of a number of young athletes. As part of the MLB Little League Classic, the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees took a side turn away from their usual MLB schedules to participate in light interaction with the youngest athletes. Devoting time to the stars of tomorrow, the teams shared experiences, and in some cases, even played games together. Detroit Tigers, as well as their counterparts from New York, felt the welcome and attention of young athletes. Both teams signed autographs and distributed collectibles, which certainly helped the young enthusiast remember the encounters. Participants recognized the condition, and as soon as they arrived in Williamsport, the athletes experienced the joy of being welcome. On the first day, the athletes slid down the outfield hill with their Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees on pieces of cardboard, giggling as they did a mini-competition. The athletes played video games and table tennis with the kids as well. Interaction was not limited to fun and games – there were some educational elements of communication. On the bus, Giancarlo Stanton presented to the young athletes the appropriate handle of a baseball. Players from both teams also answered the young athletes’ questions about professional baseball. In short, this format allows little athletes to arrive and be able to listen to their idols.
