Easton Stick Spotlighted Amid Chargers Quarterback Issues

The Los Angeles Chargers may soon find themselves in a quarterback quandary. The team’s starting signal-caller, Justin Herbert, is out of action after suffering a plantar fascia injury. The absence of the starting quarterback has brought more attention to the team’s backup, Easton Stick, a player whose accuracy and control were frequently called into question during training camp by new head coach Jim Harbaugh. The Chargers favorite may not return any time soon. He suffered an injury that commonly limits a player’s mobility, and it can linger longer than a typical week-to-week injury.

It appears it is not just the Chargers who will have to make do with what they have. Reports coming out of the Atlanta Falcons training camp are that the club is willing to trade a quarterback to another team. If the Chargers are forced to promote Stick to the starting position, there may be little the Falcons can provide as an additional challenge. The season opener for the Los Angeles Chargers is against the Eagles, the current champions of the National Football league. Anything less than a top performance is likely to be an open invitation for the experienced 30-year-old quarterback of Washington, Taylor Heinicke, to take over.
