Early Sunday morning, a powerful house explosion claimed one life and injured at least two individuals in Harford County, Maryland, northeast of Baltimore. The incident took place on Arthurs Woods Drive in Bel Air, and it was first reported to the authorities as a gas leak at 6:42 a.m. ET. However, the explosion was on a much larger scale, Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office Oliver Alkire explained. The Baltimore Gas and Electric Company had reported a gas smell as they had been already tending to issues with electricity in the same area. Any information available on the condition of the workers that identified the gas was not provided. The cause of the explosion has also not been specified, no whether it was accident or intentional. Additionally, the property that exploded was listed for sale, with the asking price being $300,000.

The damage that the powerful explosion caused was not limited to the targeted structure. Neighboring buildings also sustained significant trauma. According to Harford County officials reported that a person in the next house was injured and taken to a hospital. Apart from that, one utility worker was also hurt, although their injuries were not disclosed. The agencies present on the site include the ATF and numerous local fire and EMS departments. They currently conduct a search of the area to determine the full extent of the explosion.
