Fans Demand Fair Treatment for ITZY's Yeji

ITZY’s Yeji’s fans have recently made a meaningful gesture by sending protest trucks to the JYP Entertainment building. The rallies happened under the hashtag #TREATYEJIBETTER in response to her shock omission from the cover of the group’s limited edition album KILL MY DOUBT. The move raised some concerns among her community, with the artists and supportive fans denouncing the practice.

Protest tracks, issued by Hwang Yeji CN fan union, had a range of demands, including more individual approach towards the artist such as her own magazine covers and dance covers, as well as addressing key management services such as a stop to malicious comments and an invasion of privacy undertaken by sasaeng fans. Not the less, the event underlines the growing role of fan communities in the pursuit of the fair treatment of artists in the K-pop scene.
