Grady Sizemore Takes Charge as White Sox Interim Manager

Grady Sizemore, former Cleveland Indians standout, was named the Chicago White Sox’s interim manager for the rest of the 2024 season. The announcement came shortly after the team fired Pedro Grifol on Thursday. Sizemore, who was a team’s outfield and baserunning coach, is now in his new position and comes with a lot of insights both on and off the field.

Sizemore was a remarkable player during his time in the MLB, being named an All-Star three times in 2006-08. The outfielder was also awarded two Gold Gloves and was the Silver Slugger winner in 2008. In 10-year MLB of experience, playing primarily for the Cleveland side, Sizemore managed to accumulate.269 batting average, launching 139 home runs and 458 RBIs and stealing 134 bases. Apart from his incredible contribution to the Cleveland roster, Sizemore had some time with the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, and Tampa Bay Rays before he called off his career in 2015.

The White Sox hope that Sizemore’s addition will give their team a new boost over the season and will let them benefit from the wider knowledge and great reputation within the MLB circle. Currently, the major question for the fans and analysts refers to how the White Sox will perform the following season.
