Heavy Storms and Intense Heat Expected in Tulsa

It looks like we are set for our next round of severe weather in Tulsa, with heavy storms expected to roll through overnight tonight and into Monday morning. The most substantial rainfall, with totals of 1 to 2 inches, is expected from Tulsa northeastward, with these heavy storms likely clearing out around midday Monday. However, it could still be a bit wet and trippy on the way to work on Monday morning in case the proper measure is not taken.

After a day to dry out on Monday, another round of precipitation is expected – mainly north of Tulsa – for Tuesday, although this time no flooding is expected. However, as the month of August continues, so will the heat that normally goes along with it. In fact, we are looking at some of the hottest weather of the month starting on Tuesday, when temperatures will hit daily highs near 100° and above 100° for the heat index each afternoon. This intense heat will continue through the second half of the degree. Heading towards the weekend, those rain chances will not change, but it will get hot and dry. Be careful, and keep well-hydrated and stay under the sun during hottest hours.
