High Winds Disrupt Leeds Festival but Hope Remains

The Leeds Festival at Bramham Park was faced with an unexpected challenge this morning as gates have remained closed due to high winds which posed safety concerns. BBC reports that Storm Lilian brought the high speeds, and a delay in opening the festival will be observed since the high speeds persisted. High winds forced authorities to close two stages which will remain closed for the whole day. However, the narrative is not all gloomy as the official statement by the event’s organiser says, “We can see an end in sight to the high winds.” as cited on the BBC network. Organisers also promised to keep the public updates on any new developments. The closure of The BBC Radio 1 Stage and The Aux forced festive-goers to hide in their cars and tents. However, the organizers tried to keep the public’s confidence high by jokingly urging the public not to worry about the lost stages as they would find them soon on their Facebook page. The Met Office did issue a yellow wind warning for all festival-goers, urging all the public to ensure their camping equipment is well hold and remain in their sheltered position. This resilience has marked the over century music festivals in Britain, and optimistic festive-goers expect that the opened Bowling for Soup will entertain them as scheduled, Liam Gallagher, and Catfish and the Bottlemen will be in the vicinity to entertain the public on the Main stage. it is not clear whether the closure of the other two stages will next disrupt the event slated for 26-29 August 2021 at Bramham Park west Yorkshire. Then how will digital content creators catch a Black Midi gig on The Chevron and The Aux venue not affected by the high winds?
