Major General John “Jack” Singlaub is rightly considered one of the most revered men in U.S. military history. However, it is not only his personal heroism that makes him famous. As one of the Army Rangers, Singlaub served throughout several decades and major wars in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. His competence in irregular warfare and sizable strategic thinking had an immense role in shaping the tactics and preparation routines of the U.S. Army Rangers. Early in the 1950s, General Singlaub started a training program for the Army Rangers in Fort Benning, Georgia.
