Jake Elliott's Last-Second Field Goal Wins the Game

In an action-packed Thursday Night Football game, kicker Jake Elliott has redeemed himself by making a 49-yard field goal to win the contest at the buzzer for the Philadelphia Eagles against the Baltimore Ravens 16-13.

Elliott has missed an extra point kick earlier in the night and an earlier 50-yard field goal attempt, which has hit the right upright with only 16 seconds left in the game when the Eagles were losing 13-16.

However, Baltimore Ravens’ rookie quarterback Emory Jones, who has just been substituted in the game, and was sacked while holding the ball loosely. In the ensuing play and possession, Elliott has nailed a 49-yard field goal from nearly the identical spot, which he has previously missed.

Therefore, it is evident that Elliott is indeed resilient and can remain calm under pressure. Furthermore, Eagles’ coach Nick Sirianni has insisted that he believes in Elliott after the kicker’s earlier mistakes.

Indeed, Eleliott’s heroics during the last second of the game are a good indication that he is mentally tough and that there are a lot of surprises in the NFL.
