Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Ryan to seek second opinion on triceps injury: Report

Following his most recent game in Chicago, Minnesota Twins pitcher Joe Ryan has decided to consult with a health professional. According to Declan Goff of SKOR North, Ryan’s second opinion is expected to take place soon, allowing the Twins’ organization to support the decision of their right-hander. Ryan had been placed on the 15-day injured list last Friday after his diagnosis of a Grade 2 teres major strain. Although it’s something that Minnesota Twins manager Rocco Baldelli claims to be lasting “a number of weeks in a situation like this,” the injury is not a season-ender.

In other news, Minnesota Twins prospect Brooks Lee has been seen out of the pressure sleeve, which followed his official placement on the 10-day injured list. According to Goff, the shortstop has been doing some fielding drills, although he has not yet participated in hitting.

Finally, it seems as if Wednesday’s rubber game against the Kansas City Royals may feature right-hander Louie Varland on the ventral. After having seen action as a 27th man in last Friday’s doubleheader, Varland has done a nice job so far, and his walk to the rotation may be vital as the Minnesota Twins look to maneuver through these injuries.
