John Mousinho Discusses Sammy Silvera's Impact at Portsmouth

The manager of Portsmouth FC, John Mousinho, has described his conflicting feelings about Sammy Silvera’s first performances since he was hired on loan from Middlesbrough. Even though the latter had a challenging debut during the last weekend’s 3-3 draw at Leeds, the game in which he was substituted at the half-time, Mousinho still praised the Australian winger for being resilient and standing out in the recent Carabao Cup match against Millwall.

Evidently, the player has managed to overcome these issues and adapt to the style of play rather swiftly, as Mousinho’s reference to Tuesday night indicates. The coach is quoted as saying, “Sammy was undoubtedly our brightest player against Millwall)”. Silvera is expected to also work on his goal scoring and assists and raise his overall game.

The manager is also exact that, as a player in training, Silvera cannot be overexposed in actual games in order for his extensive playing career with the team to be possible. Taking into account his solid pre-season with the team and excellent performance post-debut, it is more than likely that he will become Portsmouth FC’s star player by the end of this season.
