Kennedy Blades' Dominant Performance at Paris Olympics

Kennedy Blades, a rising star of the Iowa Hawkeyes team, has recently been spotted at the Olympics 2024 in Paris. This 20-year-old wrestler joined the team in July, abandoning the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club and Arizona State University, is showing her worth on the world stage.

Having earned the opportunity to participate in this prestigious event by defeating Adeline Gray, an athlete with six World titles and a silver medal from the previous Tokyo Olympics in 2020, Blades demonstrated her skills.

Unlike many other wrestlers who feel fairly equally matched to their opponents, Blades began using her technique from the first moments of the match, gaining momentum. As the Washington Post reported, she began the first round by putting her Romanian opponent down 2-0 and then increased her lead to 6-0 with a four-point toss by halftime. The final back suplex determined Blades’ 11-0 technical fall, allowing her to exit the palaCarterette with her head high. But it was a very unfortunate event at the very end of the second half, the final move which resulted in injury to Axente. The Romanian was carried out of the arena on a stretcher, causing the newest darling of the American wrestling community including Olympic medalist Jordan Burroughs, to cover her face in horror.
