Lufthansa and Swiss Halt Flights to Several Middle East Cities

Due to the further escalation of the situation in the Middle East, Lufthansa Group and Swiss International Air Lines extended their flight suspensions to several critical destinations in the region. According to their latest announcements, both carriers have decided to halt services to Tel Aviv, Beirut, Tehran, Amman, as well as Erbil until August 21. Such a decision reflects ever-growing worries about the heightened level of safety risks amid the increasing conflict intensity. The carrier’s safety measures have confirmed that Lufthansa Group’s aircraft will not use Iranian and Iraqi airspace in the stated period. In its turn, the Swiss International Air Lines’ management has confirmed that, in addition to Iran and Iraq, its fleet will avoid the airspace of Israel.

The announcement suggests taking necessary precautions to guarantee the safety of passengers during the turbulent period. Those affected should not hesitate to reach the airlines for support with rebooking tickets or receiving additional information. It is also worth noting that further announcements by both carriers will follow as the situation develops.
