Mac Jones Shines in Jacksonville Jaguars Preseason

Mac Jones, the former new england patriots quarterback, has shown his ability to shine with the Jacksonville Jaguars as he exhibits his true power under a new name. Jones appears to have been able to easily adjust to the change of the team, effectively impressing his fans and the Jaguars’ coaching squad with his performance.

Throughout the preseason, Jones has shown what he is worth with an overall 421-passing-yard score, three touchdowns-of-passing, and a clean sheet with zero interceptions. As a result, the Jacksonville Jaguars have won over some strong rivals, such as Kansas City Chefs, Atlanta Falcons, and tampa bay buccaneers, to name a few. Even though the game against the Falcons impressed the fans less than the rest of the ones presented, he still achieved an impressive feat, by going 13 of 18 and making 113-yards-of-passing, one touchdown is scored. The latter performance once again reiterates the fact that Jones has a serious chance of becoming the backup quarterback for Trevor Lawrence.

The coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Doug Pederson, shared his take on Jones’ progress along with other details concerning the quarterback’s work for the Jaguars. Though a part of the general comment that the quarterback seems to be acquiring the right mindset for working within the Jaguars’ system, Pederson also noted that sometimes, Jones begins to resort the “Patriots ways” when playing and that the issue per se, has to be fixed: “Now, we’re just trying to get him into the Jacksonville Jaguar way.” However, the coach also stresses that the overall performance of the former New England Patriots quarterback when he “leads the offense well.”

Being a part of the Jacksonville Jaguars obviously provides Jones with both a challenge and a great opportunity. While the last season that he spent with the Patriots was, to put it mildly, not impressive, with the overall score at 2,120 passing yards, ten touchdown-spassing sessions, and twelve interceptions, the change of team, obviously, does him good. The new team and the new environment seem to be more suitable for the young player. Overall, if the progress that he is currently showing continues developing at the same rate, he is most likely to find a starting quarter situation in other NFA franchises. At the same time, the Jaguars appear to take full advantage of the situation and continue to develop his skills, investing in his potential for the times when his place in the first string may be required. Therefore, the decision made by Jones to join the Jaguars may have opened several doors leading to his further “loading.” The results, however, will show soon enough, as the regular season is just around the corner.
