His iconic ‘Midsummer Night’s Magic’ games took place in UCLA’s Pauley Pavilion, being an off-season exhibition. They were also known as the NBA’s second All-Star Game wonders. It was the place where such basketball superstars as Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, and Charles Barkley played together.

Having taken place in Los Angeles, the game inevitably became a part of common culture, which might be compared to the Drew League.
