Manchester United and Fulham Kick Off Premier League

The 2024/25 Premier League season gets started tonight as manchester united welcome Fulham to Old Trafford at 8pm BST. The Reds finished in a disappointing eighth place last term, but still with Erik ten Hag at the helm, and he would like nothing more than getting off to a strong start, after their loss in the Community Shield to Manchester United has whetted his side’s appetite. Meanwhile, The Cottagers lost a crucial player from the midfield as Joao Palhinha decided to join Bayern Munich, but they welcomed Emile Smith Rowe as part of their ambitions to finish in the middle of the table for the third consecutive season during their successful pre-season with a 2-0 win against Hoffenheim.

This game is live as part of the Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League pack, with coverage getting under way at 7pm, and the team will also be bringing you all the action via live blog on Standard Sport.

The previous game between the sides at Old Trafford ended in a 2-1 home defeat for Manchester United. Both sides have strengthened their squad compared to last term, though, and we hope that this will be a fiercely contested season opener with no shortage of events having taken place on the pitch.
