Mando and Grogu's Journey in New Star Wars Movie

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni revealed the first look of upcoming Star War movie ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ in an electrifying announcement at the D23’s. The movie is set to release in theaters on May 22, 2026. The movie will reportedly cover large narrative gaps in the Star Wars universe. Specifically, it might cover the gaps between the Disney+ series and Filoni’s ‘New Republic’ movie. The first look at D23’s was a mix of new and well-known with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin telling Grogu “You are my apprentice”. The movie also got fans excited with an intense shootout scene of Mando and the piloting scenes of the resurrected Razor Crests through which Zeb Orrelios of Star Wars Rebels was seen assisting the ‘Mandalorian’. Some fans might also remember the icy planet as ‘Hoth’ although the planet is not officially known. Skirmishes with the Imperial Force suggest the movie is about to create some nostalgia.

Mando and Grogu’s appearance on big screens after ruling the online platform certainly take the duo on a higher journey. A journey that not just depicts their lives but a journey that adds new layers to their story. Fans are waiting in anticipation to watch the movie and discover what’s happening with Mando and Grogu after Disney+ closed the curtains.
