Matthew Judon Moves to Falcons After Patriots Trade

The new england patriots have finally agreed on a trade that will send defensive end Matthew Judon to the Atlanta Falcons, resolving several months of offseason tension. The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted on Wednesday that the Falcons will part with a third-round draft pick to acquire the experienced pass-rusher. The player, who turns 31 this year and is in the final year of his four-year deal, has previously voiced his unhappiness with the current contract with the Patriots.

Judon’s discontent went public during the practice that took place in July when he had a heated disagreement with Patriots coach Jerod Mayo. As a result of the trade Judon, who is both a talented defensive player and Grand Valley State alumni, will sign a fresh contract with the NFL team. The trade will bring a decent reinforcement to Atlanta’s defense and will make the Patriots’ roster a bit more manageable on their way to the new season. The move is an instance of two teams optimizing their lineups before the start of the NFL year.
