Merseyside Detectives Episode Sheds Light on Murders

Channel 4 is airing the “Merseyside detectives” episode on August 19, 2024, where an investigative team member will address the murders of Ashley Dale and Olivia Pratt-Korbelt. These murders threw the whole Liverpool into darkness in 2022. The episode goes on air replaying each minute of the investigative activities after these murders to show the viewers the challenges and the requirements to unravel crimes in these areas by police units in Ireland.

Investigative Summary

Ashley Dale, 28, and 9-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbelt died in gang-related murders. The police found their bodies two miles apart and 46 hours away.

Characteristics of Investigative Activities

The documentary shows many crimes that prove the content of Liverpool and the substantial challenges of dealing with South American gangs. The episode shows the reality of the police’s investigative movements and experiences after the murders. From reporters, police highlights show the murder series, the exposure of some investigative movements, the use of cameras, and the control of any suspicious movement. Especially in home videos, Olivia Pratt-Korbelt’s death was watched by herself: an innocent 9-year-old child caught up in trafficking by gunshot and we saw only the video reaction: people cried at that point. Following the murders of Ashley and Olivia, the police set out to locate their killers and were able to arrest and bring the defendants to trial by June 2023.

Ethical Views on the Episode

The displays of all the events in the episode, especially the cries of Marie Pratt – mother to Olivia; I believe it is unethical. As a viewer, we can understand and watch all the events surrounding us, but the things that the police have are enough for the suspects because it will stop the airing of information after peace returns to the village. In addition, today, the killers are paying for the offenses they committed. The “Merseyside Detectives” episode will air again with a piece of advice.
