Nationwide Candy Recall Due to Salmonella Risk

A nationwide recall of multiple candy and snack products has been confirmed by Palmer Candy Company as a result of the possibility of salmonella contamination. Several major retailers, such as Walmart, Target and Dollar General, have already removed these items from their shelves in connection with the recall. Today, August 6, the FDA provided the recall that began in May with the Class I level of risk, which represents a situation in which there is the most considerable probability of a health threat.

The recalled products belong to a number of different white chocolate- or yogurt- coated treats, such as Caramel Swirl Pretzels, Classic Yogurt Pretzels, and Patriotic Snack Mix, among others. The consumers who have purchased these items are encouraged to return them to the place of purchase in order to receive a full refund. The health dangers of salmonella manifest themselves in a number of forms, from mild stomach issues to severe disease and even fatal infections. No sicknesses associated with this recall have been reported at this point. The consumers who have questions may refer to Palmer Candy Company by calling 1-800-831-0828.
