NFL Preseason 2024: Key Highlights and Player Performances

The 2024 NFL preseason games are coming to an end and the teams have virtually done all they could have in the preparation for the beginning of the season. This time, the third week was especially interesting as the combination of established starts and new talent provided the spectators with some great games to watch.

Veteran Quarterbacks and Rookies

Patrick Mahomes, who is already an established quarterback and a two-time MVP with the kansas city chiefs, made a splash and impressed the viewers once again. He threw a behind-the-back pass in a game with the Lions, adding some needed flair to the game. Tua Tagovailoa was just as impressive in his appearance for the Miami Dolphins and passed all five of his attempts for 51 yards, with a touchdown. The Dolphins also beat the Commanders, potentially complicating their path to the title, but the preseason stand here is quite impressive.

The games were a great chance to see the rookies in action and try to evaluate their potential. The bears selected Caleb Williams in the first position in the draft, and he was very efficient in the game with the Bengals. He made a couple of very surprising and effective plays, though some questions about his ability to throw the ball effectively. At the same time, Jayden Daniels, the second in the draft and drafted by the washington commanders, looked very masterful in his appearances.

Coverage and Local Options

The games are very widely covered, including the broadcasts of the games on the NFL Network, CBS, and NBC, and the opportunities to watch them via Fubo and Prime video. They are especially important to watch this year as the games would be the start for some potentially important trends. The passes from Mahomes may be an indication of Chiefs plans to bet of such plays even more, while for Williams and Daniels, the future can depend on how well they played.
