Pleasant Weather Continues, Rain Expected Midweek

The pleasant weather from this weekend will continue into a Good Sunday. It will remain sunny early on, while the cloud cover is expected to increase by the late evening. An upper-level disturbance in concert with a surface trough of low pressure will begin affecting the state of Iowa beginning on Sunday night and into Monday. We can expect rain and a drop in temperature with these conditions taking place next week.

It seems the rain will avoid the area on Tuesday and well onto Wednesday morning. It might start raining intermittently on Wednesday evening and continue into the morning of Friday. The chances for severe weather this week remain very low according to the Colorado State’s severe weather algorithm. The chances for excessive rainfall increase as the atmosphere’s moisture grows after Friday noon.

The European computer model provides partial insight as to where significant rainfalls might be situated. Nevertheless, it would be wise to focus on where and not if the totals are significant. It will be colder this Monday, but a slight warming trend will allow the temperature to rebound to around average.
