QPR and Plymouth Argyle Face Off in Championship

This weekend, Queens Park Rangers and Plymouth Argyle, who are both at the bottom of the Championship table right now with only one point each to their name, are going to face each other in a battle of two 18th-century outfits. Therefore, two teams positioned 18th and 21st are going to be fighting desperately not to get close to the relegation zone. While QPR did get their one and only point of the season so far at home in their first game, when they hosted Millwall and could only draw 1-1, the loss to West Brom in their opening game of the season was a painful one for the fans at the Warren, and the subsequent draw against Northampton United did not leave the virtual fans on the eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer too excited.

QPR have played six away games on the road against Plymouth Argyle since the first meeting between the two teams in 1956, losing two of them, games, while drawing three and winning just one, with their last meeting at home ending in a goalless draw. Nevertheless, at home, QPR have achieved good progress with their visitors to Loft road, with Plymouth winning only one of their last 13 games at the famous football ground in England. However, despite the historical data looking favourable for the permanent U’s, a home defeat to Plymouth will mean that they have lost two consecutive games in front of their home fans for the first time since January of this year.

For the Pilgrims, the fans dare hope for a better outcome as QPR are still chasing their normal attacking strength, and since the acquisition of Whittaker, he is yet to score any goals for his new side, Plymouth Argyle. Furthermore, since the table was last rearranged, Plymouth have neither won any games against the eggs, nor have they scored any goals in their last three visits to Loftus Road.

Both teams are expected to run a 4-2-3-1 formation with the emphasis on giving a final push to stabilise the midfield while exposing their opposition on the wings. Wayne Rooney will be expected to reduce his side’s leaks at the back while also wooing the pelvis- Yamil Qam once again – to be more clinical in front of goal. Martí Cifuentes, on the other hand, will have to break the low scoring record the Pilgrims have against QPR, as well as Morgan Whittaker, who has not yet scored a goal in his current run of nine matches in the Championship. You can follow the action against your local sports station.
