A vehicle fire on Interstate 80 has led to a wildfire, destroying 300 acres and prompting evacuations in the Quilici Ranch Road area.

Quilici Fire Destroys 300 Acres, Evacuations Urged

A vehicle fire on Interstate 80 near the Nevada – California border east of Mogul started a wildfire. Rapidly spreading, the car – caused incident has destroyed at least 300 acres overnight. Fire and rescue teams of Truckee Meadows are on – scene but some progress has been reported only till 8 p.m. on Sunday. The blaze is designation as Quilici Fire. Those living in Quilici Ranch Road area should evacuate their homes, especially zone red visitors.

Meanwhile, the area is served by the Northwest Library located on 2325 Robb Drive. Eastbound traffic is facing traffic jams as all lanes are being diverted to SR – 267. All westbound lanes are open to traffic. Those seeing a large column of smoke over Truckee Meadows should take all necessary precautions to stay out of its way. The community can expects updates and directions from the emergency management team of the county.
