Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Illinois Counties

The National Weather Service in Chicago has released a severe thunderstorm warning for some counties of northeastern and north central Illinois. The warning will be valid until 7:45 PM CDT. The service claims that the severe thunderstorms are moving east at a speed of 50 mph. The 60 mph wind gusts may damage the roofs, siding, and trees.

The warning refers to Kendall, northeastern La Salle, northwestern Will, southeastern De Kalb, southern Kane, and southwestern DuPage counties. The severe thunderstorms may affect such major cities of the region as Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Wheaton, Downers Grove, DeKalb, Romeoville, and Plainfield. People are advised to take action, to secure any loose objects and to move to a secure location.
