Sifan Hassan's Olympic Triple Challenge Deemed Tough

With the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in sight, all attention is on Sifan Hassan, particularly considering that even the likes of Sir Mo Farah have found what she intends to do too difficult. While she is already a well-known sports figure with bronze medals to her name in both the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters, she aims to become an unprecedented athlete by taking part in these events and the 1,500 meters in the same Olympic cycle. This raises a complicated issue regarding the ways to maintain an individual’s top possible form during such physical stress as running and staying in shape to win.

The procedure involved is further complexified by the necessity of rehabilitation after each race. This latter part is especially important and will be far from easy – according to Farah, every athlete, and indeed every human being, is unique, but there exist distinct approaches, and he has to immediately consume protein, proceed to an ice bath, and rest his legs. The last part should hopefully enable the former Olympian to be fully prepared for his next performance, but Hassan might have an even bigger challenge on her hands.
