Temporary Suspension of Dispersed Camping in Eau Claire

Eau Claire Counter has declared a temporary suspension of dispersed camping in the Eau Claire County Forest from August 16 until the 15th of October. The decision, established by the Eau Claire County Committee on Parks and Forest addresses the particular concerns to be found in the course of the activity within the 50,000-acre forest area. As a result, the dispersion camping permits will not be available.

At the same time, the forest remains open for other types of activities such as hiking, fishing, and hunting, which means that outdoor fans have an opportunity to enjoy some time in the wild. In case they are willing to stay overnight, they are suggested considering the Coon Fork Campground and Harstad Campground sites.
