The Flintstones' Influence on Music and Law

Various rock legends seem to be inspired by their reverence of their respective ages, meaning that the popular animated film called The Flintstones has left a footprint in the realm of music. One of the most curious examples of the relationship between cartoons and music is the story of a Swedish comedian named Owe Thörnqvist, who had recorded a song Wilma! The latter included the phrase that was famous as one of the signature elements in the Flintstones TV show, which had been produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. In fact, the building block of the song was the recurrent message Wilma, I want to stay with you, Wilma, I want to be with you now’ to which people needed to respond Yabba-dabba-doo! Thus, the lyrics had numerous references to the show with the range of situations. At first, it seemed unacceptable for Hanna-Barbera Productions and caused a legal conflict that was finalized with recording Thörnqvist’s part in one of the episodes.

This case study can be viewed as an example of the global impact of the show, as its creators had been able to recognize the specific context. Moreover, this case is evidence of the relationship between pop culture and law, as the people associated with the show needed to find an outspeech to solve the problem with the comedian from another country. Overall, the relationship between The Flintstones and music is evident in multiple cases, yet the described one is memorable due to the flow of the related circumstances.
