One of the greatest personalities of the Christian history is commemorated – Saint Lawrence, the one who was too bound by his love for God and became a martyr on August 10, 258. The once-archdeacon of Pope Saint Sixtus II, was assigned the deacon of the crucial role of the Roman Church. It was a persecuting time and the Roman authorities made a warning to this deacon. They ordered him to relinquish the Church’s treasures to the Roman authorities. Nevertheless, instead of the utensils, that was requested to be given, it was told that the poor of the city are the true treasures, that are withheld by the Church.

The further part of the life of Saint Lawrence hardly lasted long since thus, he showcased his endowment to be faithful and fearless. He was roasted to death on a gridding. The sacrifice of Saint Lawrence served for the future, the pope Sixtus II was also shortly martyred. The body of Saint Lawrence, after being killed, was cast into a field outside one of the gates of Rome’s walls. About two centuries later, Emperor Constantine established a basilica in laurence’s burial site. Year by year, he is honored, regarded and revered, those who he was devoted to are still thinking about the ‘roast of Christ’, the only word that he was able to mention being roasted. Saint Lawrence is also an intercessor and a protector of human beings, who devote their lives to the poor.
