Tim Walz Faces Stolen Valor Claims Amid Election Hype

As the hype around the 2024 election continues to intensify, Tim Walz, the Governor and running mate for vice president kamala harris, not only has to fight his political opponents but also address the #StolenValor accusations circulating in the media. In a recent episode of “The Ingraham Angle,” retired Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Behrends, a former member of Walz’s battalion, lambasted the minnesota governor for his alleged attempts to embellish his military record. In particular, Behrends: “He told you that he retired as a command sergeant major. Tim Walz was not a command sergeant major”.

The Minnesota National Guard was quick to clarify that:

  • While Walz might have had a chance to earn his CSM ranking during a deployment to Europe, he did not complete the necessary coursework and eventually retired as a master sergeant in the army.

While the forces responsible for the allegations keep trying to see past the cloud of the governor’s improving memory, many members of the veteran community express outrage. The feeling of betrayal by the governor increases in the community, making the situation with the Harris-Walz ticket even more complex. As a result, the popularity of the Harris-Walz ticket among military families and veteran voters is likely to suffer. With the events unraveling, more interests in Walz’s military record and some of the statements that he has made in public regarding his ranking and the experience he gained during his service will be observed.
