Tommy DeVito Steps Up in Preseason Game Challenge

During Thursday’s preseason opener against the Detroit Lions, quarterback Drew Lock, but was sidelined after a hip injury. The incident happened late in the first quarter and the backup quarterback Tommy DeVito had to rise to the occasion. The starting quarterback, who had been under much fatal pressure, left the field after recording 4 for 10 pass attempts, managing only 17 yards and an interception. As a result, he moved downward with a bag, leading to his exit prematurely. Besides that, there were 2 three-and-outs and manageable three first downs.

The pressure cost Drew Lock for staying on the field for 15 plays. The game, which saw his backup quarterback step to save because the initial’s offense seemed was not functioning. With the absence of starter quarterback Daniel Jones that placed heavy pressure on his resilience, Tommy DeVito had to stand from where he had left. Lock ended the initial four drives before a replay session took place. As the lone man seen on the replay when Lock ran to take some throws to the ground, he turned with a bag carry jollily signalling the onset of a great thing.

It is a turning point for Tommy DeVito, who was waiting on standby to rise to the occasion and show whether he could manage the stress and pressures of the NFL. All that remains now is to march forward and embrace the preseason moments that will see a tight and more strategic game time.
