Tottenham and Liverpool Secure Key Defender Signings

Tottenham Hotspur has completed a deal to sign Australian defender Clare Hunt from Paris Saint-Germain on a three-year contract, reportedly keeping her tied down until 2027. The 25-year-old featured prominently in Australia’s semi-finals run in the 2023 World Cup and played the Olympics in France. She has been awarded the No. 15 shirt at the North London outfit. Hunt expressed her delight at joining Spurs and named the progressiveness of the club’s game as well as the culture as key factors in her move.

Liverpool, meanwhile, has completed the signing of Welsh defender Gemma Evans from manchester united. Evans played for Bristol City when Liverpool coach Matt Beard was head coach and reunion with him will provide her a fresh start and a better chance of more playing time. Hunt has been handed Liverpool’s No. 3 jersey and looks to show what she can do this season after a difficult year at Manchester United. These two transfers are the most recent examples of the shuffle of experienced international players that Women’s Super League clubs are making to boost their squads ahead of the new season.
