Tragic House Explosion in Maryland Claims Two Lives

Early Sunday morning in Harford County, Maryland, a tragic incident of house explosion happened as a Baltimore Gas and Electric contractor and a 73-year-old homeowner lost their lives. Moreover, a neighbor was injured, and 12 families from the community where the 2300 block of Arthurs Woods Drive house got demolished had to be displaced.

The house that is believed to be set for sale received the explosion due to a gas leak it had sometime after 6:30 a.m. The Maryland State Fire Marshal, ATF along with other agencies such as the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, are still investigating to establish the cause of the explosion. Fire officials also confirmed that there were no risks to the community; meaning, the flame had been controlled, and there mere minor casualties.

Moreover, the Harford County Department of Emergency Exercises has placed a hotline for the residents to call and offer any information relating to the incident that may be useful for the investigation. As such, it is a valuable source since it allows a two-way approach where information can be gathered, and residents can be of help.
