Trump’s 2024 Campaign Shifts Focus to Aggressive Tactics

In my critique of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign for 2024 posted last week, I noted that there is no strategy in the candidate’s efforts to regain political influence. Nevertheless, certain developments might signal that a change of approach is currently happening. The most recent post by Trump on Truth Social was a harsh attack aimed at Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Nancy Pelosi, with the candidate using provocative statements and personal attacks. It seems that Trump’s plan might be to refocus his campaign on targeting his political opponents.

Another piece of evidence to suggest that Trump’s campaign might be feeling more ambitious is the manner in which he chose his running mate. The scandal of selecting Senator JD Vance was not accidental since the candidate chose to support someone who would provoke more controversy due to their suspicious background. The choice was made despite other more decent alternatives, which means that the strategy for the campaign will heavily involve attacking the opponent by highlighting their negative background.

Additionally, according to a previous article, Trump’s campaign spokesman, Steven Cheung, has become more active in promoting the former president’s messages online. While at the moment, the electorate does not seem to support the candidate, the refocus of the campaign on aggressive attacks against the Democratic Party may influence the situation and change people’s attitudes towards the candidate.
