Tullahoma Schools Advance in Music Education

As of June 3rd, 2019, Tullahoma City Schools in Tennessee have made a huge headway in music education. It has become possible thanks to the partnership of the district, Country Music Association Foundation, and Music has Value. Their efforts and a joint fund of $75,500 include providing 278 new musical instruments, including acoustic guitars and double French horns, for all the students, who learn music across all the grades. It also involves adopting a digitized music inventory and providing the special training of music teachers to “support English language learners and students with disabilities”.

Catherine Stephens, Tullahoma Superintendent, pinpointed that music transforms the way how education is provided. She stated, “It’s really about bringing on the qualities that art allows us to experience through exploration.” Thus all the students will now be able to make their dreams come true, while the important aspect is that the partnership presupposes supporting and servicing all the music instruments. It means not only supplying students with instruments, most of which are still beyond the means of the majority but caring about them regularly.
