Vince Vaughn Discusses the Decline of R-rated Comedies

Vince Vaughn has recently shared his impressions and insights regarding the deaths of R-rated comedies in Hollywood, the genre to which his famous movie “Wedding Crashers” belongs. Appearing at the YouTube show “Hot Ones”, Vaughn argues that the approach to shooting developed modern comedies is overcautious, and the studio rules are too stringent. Hollywood uses a wrong concept to create bold and cheeky comedies. As an example, Vaughn brings the misapplication of school mathematics principles, namely, an incorrect definition of a right angle that explains schoolchildren’s further mathematical misunderstanding.

Vince Vaughn’s status as a leading comedy star was consolidated by his performances in such films as “Old School” and “The Watch”. Vaughn draws attention to the excessive use of intellectual property ways to avoid offbeat stories and new ideas. For example, a film based on a popular eponymous board game “Battleship” was made because the game was already well-known. At the same time, the actor does not see that adult comedies will continue to die. The audience’s demand will always exist, and there will be a wish to see bold and funny movies. Vaughn’s project “Bad Monkey” will premiere on AppleTV+ on August 14.
