Wrestling World Mourns the Loss of Afa Anoa'i

In an overwhelming announcement made by Samu Anoa’i, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i, the wrestling world was in mourning at the passing of his father on Tuesday evening. Afa was quite the intimidating figure as he was one-half of the Wild Samoans tag team. Two and a half months ago, the family lost Sika, Afa’s brother, the other half of the famed duo, and the father to WWE superstar Roman Reigns.

“To see these gentlemen just a few months apart is heart-wrenching,” said Samu. Dustin Rhodes, who still remembers the iconic matches Afa and Sika had with his father Dusty, paid tribute to Afa via Twitter. “RIP #AFA! What a great man he was! #alwaysproud @WWERomanReigns my heart hurts for you my friend,” said Rhodes.

Reigns too paid tribute to his uncle after choosing to stay quiet on the matter for almost a full 24 hours. He praised the brothers’ bond both in real life and in the ring. “Our family has suffered another great loss...Afa and my father were loving brothers, the greatest tag team of their generation, and now they’re reunited together in heaven #RIPAfa,” said Reigns.
