Yseult's Performance of 'My Way' at Paris Olympics Closing

Singer Yseult from France delivered an outstanding performance of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” that resonated with the entire global community gathered to watch the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony. However, her singing was not only a great musical performance, as she tied the performance to the cultural relationship between France and the United States, as their next edition would take place in Los Angeles in 2028.

The song’s origin adds significance to the performance, as “My Way” was a very popular and well-known song, commonly associated with Frank Sinatra, but its melody was used in the French song “Comme d’habitude” by Claude Francois. Using the familiar melody of this famous song by the French singer or the general population was a poignant way to emphasize the shared musical and artistic heritage of the two nations achieving one of the primary goals for a closing ceremony when the torch is snuffed.

Yseult, also known for her participation in “Nouvelle Star” in 2014, enjoyed great popularity in France and globally, and her selection for the performance accentuated her singing skills.
